20 Years

The Girls

Sarah, me and Lauren

Michelle, Me and Bonnie

Me and Bonnie

My 20th birthday was Friday. It is so weird to no longer be a teenager. I am now "in my twenties" granted only 2 days into my twenties but still. My new birthday year resolution was to take more pictures and to blog more. I had an excellent birthday. Friday I went to Red Robin with Bonnie, Michelle, Lauren and Sarah. Unfortunatley I was sung to by the wait staff but it was okay. Then we went to Barnes and Nobles. It was a lot of fun.

I love nice people

So today I was in the dining commons (cafeteria) standing in a very long line because it is Finger Food Friday. A lunch lady came up in front of me to get to the soda fountain and said to me (because i smiled at her) "Don't people realize that there are also chicken wings on the other side of the cafe" and I replied "Well I am just waiting for a grilled cheese". The lunch lady then replied "I hope there are some left once you get up there" which I had been thinking about the whole time I was standing in line. The next thing I know, the lunch lady went behind the counter and came up to me at the end of the line with a plate with a grilled cheese on it!!!! I love nice people.

School Is Cool!

So this semeseter my classes are excellent. Im taking Child Psychology, Comparative Politics, Womens Studies, Food Preservation Why & How, and Medical Ethics. They all seem fun, and the classes that the teachers seem dreadfully boring are at least the classes which subject matter will entertain me (child psych). I LOVE my room, because A.) My best friend is my roommate, B.) It's in an alcohol free dorm, C.) there is a kitchen and a girls bathroom right across the hall and D.) it is enormous compared to last years room.
I will post pictures soon, im off to the cafeteria, fun.

Les Miserables

I saw Les Mis at Tuacahn Amphitheater in St. George. I was really skeptical at first thinking it wouldn't be that good, but now I can't think about seeing Les Mis any other way. It was so cool because since it was outside there were horses, fireworks and real canons. Also there wasn't a single person in the cast that didn't sing or act up to par. It was a great show and a lot of fun. As usual, being the crier that I am (which I inherited from my dad, not my mom), I cried throughout the second half. (It's not my fault that A Little Fall of Rain is the most touching song ever!)

Old @ Heart

Today I went out to eat with my grandma's club "The Wrinkle Chicks". There are 12 senior women who all hang out together. After dinner we went to see the documentary Young @ Heart which proves to be a new favorite film of mine.

Yahoo movies describes the film as "Young@Heart is a New England senior citizens chorus that has delighted audiences worldwide with their covers of songs by everyone from The Clash to Coldplay. Based in Northampton, Massachusetts, the group is made up of two dozen spirited seniors who specialize in reinterpreting rock, punk and R & B classics from a unique perspective. Their lineup includes former schoolteachers, executives, doctors and food service workers, and the chorus is guided by their longtime director Bob Cilman. With less than two months to go until a one night only concert in their hometown, the performers struggle with the new lyrics and unfamiliar melodies of seven new songs. During their thrice weekly rehearsals, they gradually take possession of music ranging from R&B classics like Allen Toussaint's "Yes We Can Can" to Coldplay's emotionally powerful ballad "Fix You" upending assumptions about old age, love, sex and death.

I loved the movie and would recommend it to all.

The Biggest Little City in the World

I figured what better place to start a blog then in a hotel in Reno. I'm currently on a road trip to Gold Country California with my Grandma and Aunt where we will be spending the week. Yesterday was Brandon and Anne's wedding so I now have two sisters in law. It was a lot of fun and the food was delicious. It was at the Logan Temple which was beautiful. It was fun seeing my cousins and other family. I just spent the week in Boise with my best friend Bonnie and my Grandpa which was a ton of fun. We went swimming and shopping and alot of other fun things. We saw Get Smart which was really funny and I spent a pretty penny at Deseret Book so I will be reading books forever which is great. Thats all for now! Congrats to Crystal Avery is beautiful!!
