Put Me In Coach

So as all of you who read my blog know, I have a bit of an addiction to Coach purses. I love them, a lot. I saved up all my birthday money when I was 16 and got my first purse, and it's been downhill ever since. I got two more purses, wristlets, key chains etc. much to the chagrin of my family. It's said to say even Steve Evans now can spot a coach purse. As I was home over spring break my bestie Crystal went up to Kittery and got some killer deals, so I asked Debbie if she wanted to go. I wanted a new Polo, but, silly us, we went into the coach store first, and boy were we in for a surpise. The econonomy, blah blah, but since the economy blah blah, the coach store was having a huge sale since Novemeber to try to get sales. Mind you their stuff is outlet prices anyways, but wowee! Everything was 50% off. Even their clearance was 50% off. Debbie was impressed (hard to do) so we did some shopping! Debbie got her first purse!!!! I'm so proud of her. It was regularly $400.00 but she got it for $115.00. We got Christmas shopping done, for sister in laws, I would say what but they might read this. Also, birthday present for roommate. And.... a purse for my birthday (I can't wait for November)and a wallet for easter. Purse, Regularly $350 we got it $150 and Wallet, Regularly $220 we got it for $110. All in all, we saved $750!!!!!

Works of Art

A favorite picture of mine, if you can't read it it says To Ulisu (Alyssa) Jesus From Lybia (Lydia Koyle)
I love this artist's perspective of Christ. When we do see him I'm sure he will look as happy and have his arms wide open for us. I also love the goatee.

Let them eat cake!

I baked a new cake this week for one of the Elder's birthdays. It was a coca-cola cake. It was pretty interesting. Im not a big fan of coke but the cake tasted pretty good to me. I'll post the recipie just in case anyone wonders what a coca-cola cake entails.
Ingredients
2 cups self-rising flour
2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup Coca-Cola
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
1 tablespoon cocoa
6 tablespoons Coca-Cola
1 box confectioner's sugar, (1pound)
1/2 cup chopped pecans (I omitted the pecans)
Preparation:
Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan and set aside.
In a large bowl combine flour and sugar. In a saucpan combine the cocoa, Coca-Cola, butter, and marshmallows; bring to a boil. Combine the boiled mixture with the flour and sugar mixture.

In a separate bowl mix eggs, buttermilk, baking soda, and vanilla; add to the first mixture. Pour into prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes, until cake tests done.

Frosting: In a saucepan, bring butter, cocoa, and Coca-Cola to a boil. Stir in the sugar and mix well. Stir in nuts. Spread over the cake while both cake and frosting are still warm.

Also, the night I baked the cake I had this fortune from a fortune cookie "A nice cake is waiting for you". Very bizzah!

Euthanasia

So last night I was reading my medical ethics text book and made the comment "Man, I really love reading about euthanasia." clearly being sarcastic. Bonnie wasn't really listening to me and about 3 minutes later says, "Sorry what were you saying, something about kids in Africa?" and I was appalled at how wrong she could be. So I stated, "Uh no, try euthanasia" to which Bonnie replies, "Oh sorry, kids in Africa, youth in Asia, is there really a difference?"
