Life Ruined

So I love my cute cousin Vanessa and her husband Ryan. One day I was over at their house and Ryan told me that he flew on a Hello Kitty Airplane from Taipei to Hong Kong. He said at first he and a coworker saw the outside of the airplane with Hello Kitty's face on it, and thought it ended there, but no no, they were in for a surprise! A looked into it as soon as I got home, and to my disappointment I found out that this no longer existed! "In October 2005, EVA Air launched a campaign with Japanese company Sanrio to create the "Hello Kitty Jet," featuring the popular Japanese character. Using the airline's A330-200, the exterior adopted a livery of Hello Kitty characters. A year later, the airline launched a second Hello Kitty Jet. The aircraft featured a Hello Kitty motif on exterior and interior fittings and features. Both planes were used to serve Japanese destinations, and from mid–July 2007, also Taipei-Hong Kong routes. The Hello Kitty livery was retired in 2009." (wikipedia)

I LOVE AMERICA

So tonight, I was going to be bad. I have been on a strict budget and have been very good at it. I have almost completely stopped going out to eat, which was a major reason I needed to budget in the first place. So tonight, my roommate Jessica Jo said "do you want to go out to eat?" she did not have class tonight and she usually does. I said, "no, i cant afford to go out". The more and more time passed the more I wanted to be bad. So I asked her "so where are you going to go out to eat?" and she said "either a Thai place, paradise bakery or chipotle" and with that, i was in! I have been craving chipotle since August when I got it before an acapella festival. I thought in my head, "so long as it's under $10 ill be fine, I can just eat ramen for the rest of the month".
So we get to Chipotle and it is crazy with people, not to long of a line but more people than I have ever seen in there. I notice a pattern and turn to Jess and say "Don't you feel like we are in Provo? There isn't a single person over 30 here". So we get to the counter and Jess says "Why is it so crazy in here?" and the counter man says "Its University of Utah Students Eat Free night. We do it once a year" SO, we got our food completely free! Everything on the menu for FREE! And just to let you know, free tacos taste better than any other kind of tacos.

Things I Learned From Boys While Playing Catchphrase

Did you know what the thing is called that helps you thread a needle while sewing? Well of course, its a "Bobby Pin"!
What happens when a girl doesn't wash her hair for months at a time? Oh yes "Split Ends", how could I forget?

Things I Have Realized- Oct 2010

While reflecting on why I am not dating anyone, I came across and interesting finding. These three comments were made by me, on different occasions with male company. 1."Hmm what do I love? Oh I know, good food. Yes definitely good food and babies." 2. "Oh yes, I hate wet willies more than anything. Well, maybe after genocide." 3. Here is the kicker. "My favorite men are definitely my dad and Bruce Springsteen. Oh and Jesus" It was only after I added the "and Jesus" that I realized the mans horrified look did not come from my omission of our Savior, but the statement itself. Needless to say, I haven't had any dates lately.

Cutie Emily

While in Idaho I totally spaced taking out my camera with my cutie little cousins so I only have a few pictures with Emily my little sweetheart. We sewed a little pillow together while most of the kids were out doing other things.

Feeling Aussie

This summer I have been hanging out with my Australian friends, Annie, and her twin boys Jono and Alex.

Top:Alex,Me,Andrea and Jono
Middle: Jono and I
Bottom: Alex and I
The other night Me, Andrea and Seth (Andrea's brother) were in for some Aussie treats. First we had hot milo with tim tams. Milo is a nestle product that is similar to hot chocolate and malt. Tim tams are chocolate covered biscuit with chocolate sandwiched in the middle. The way you are supposed to enjoy your milo with tim tams is to eat of one corner on each side and then suck the milo up through the biscuit. Next I asked to try some vegemite toast, which was surprisingly good. It was just white bread, butter and vegemite on to. (Vegemite is most famous from its line in the Men at Work song "Down Under").
Finally we had milo another very popular way they eat in in Australia. You fill a glass of milk halfway and then on top scoop in as much milo to fill the glass, usually ten scoops. You do NOT mix the milo and milk. You then dip your spoon into the milo all the way down into the milk so it sticks and eat it. It was pretty yummy.

Summer 2010

This summer has been insane! I have to move out of my house by June 1st, but my new place wouldn't be ready until the 16th. Luckily I was in Idaho for 12 days so I wasn't crashing anywhere for too long. Luckily, my sweet aunt and uncle were willing to let me stay with them for a bit. Also, some of my favorite people were there while I was! Danny and Lindsay True with there sweet little Oakley and Brighton. Okies turned two!

I'm going to miss Dan, Linds, Okies and Brighton so much! I hope they have an AMAZING time in Alaska, and maybe I will even come visit. MAYBE.

Really cute pajamas! I want some!

Celtics with Aiden

For the one and a half weeks my aunt and uncle are in Hawaii, I'm babysitting there four kids and a dog. I have taken pictures, but I don't have the connecting cable with me so you will have to wait. It happens that this trip to Boise coincides with the Celtics Lakers NBA finals. These kids don't watch sports so it has been fun to introduce them to Basketball. My favorite, and most enthusiastic fan has been Aiden, the 6 year old. He has actually learned a lot, but he is so silly to watch with. He would announce the score, Boston has 31 and Lal has 26. No matter how many times I told him it was the Lakers he thought it was called Lal. He would also yell things like "#9 has his shoes untied!" or "#9 has got a score!". The best had to be when he said "It went like in a toilet". I didn't quite understand what he meant so he said "It went around and around and around the hole then finally when down". He certainly makes watching the games a little more fun.

Crafty Sarah

My sister in law Sarah is pretty crafty. For Christmas this year, she asked all of her family members who there favorite cartoon character was (and she has a lot) and then made everyone ornaments of their characters!

My Mom doesn't have a favorite anything so it was like pulling teeth for Sarah to find out Piglet is her favorite.

My Dad said Betty Boop, because once he was at an amusement park and Betty Boop wanted an audience member to come up and my Dad's friends nominated him and he was mortified.

Mine, obviously hello kitty

Brandons, Dale, from Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers

Annes, Spongebob Squarepants

Melanies, Snoopy and Woodstock.

Easter Dinner

Since for Easter Breakfast I ate Mountain Dew and Peeps (which im pretty sure could make your stomach explode) I was happy for a delicious feast for dinner. It was me, my roommate Andrea and her brother Seth for dinner. We made a spiral cut glazed ham, lion house rolls, funeral potatoes, roasted asparagus, and steamed green beans with sesame seeds and San pelligrino for beverage. We also had brownies for dessert which was delectable. I love yummy dinners!

Sorry Mom

This is my study space (my bed) when I have 2 exams and 1 paper in the next 3 days. By the way, for me to find my camera and my cord in my room was quite a feat, since my tidying has gone by the wayside in lieu of studying. Needless to say, Spring Break on Monday is much needed.

Olympic Mascots

My favorite part of the olympics is the mascots!
Miga- is a Sea Bear- part killer whale, part bear (Kermode bear, a rare white bear that only lives in British Columbia). Lives on the coast of Vancouver Island. Loves surfing, snowboarding and anything exciting. Favorite food is salmon. Favorite color is forrest green.
Quatchi- is a young sasquatch who comes from the mysterious forests of Canada. Quatchi is shy, but loves to explore new places and meet new friends. He likes hockey, photography and traveling. He loves all food and his favorite color is chill blue.
Sumi- is an animal spirit who lives in the mountains of British Columbia. Like many Canadians, Sumi's background is drawn from many places. He wears the hat of the orca whale, flies with the wings of the mighty thunderbird and runs on the strong furry legs of the black bear. He likes alpine skiing, hot cocoa and his favorite color is fern green.

We went to Boudin's on Fisherman's wharf for dinner on Saturday and let me tell you, it was AMAZING. I had Crab Mac & Cheese, and Andrea had Braised Beef in red wine sauce and they were both mouthwatering. Also, we had incredible sourdough bread. Then for dessert we went to Ghiradelli Square and has an INCREDIBLE Cookie Bottom Mint Ice Cream hot fudge sundae. Also, Ghiradelli gives you a samole of a chocolate square. Needless to say, I love the food in SF.

Golden Gate Bridge

Full House

We saw the Painted Ladies, aka where Full House was!!!!!! While driving, I proceded to sing the entire Full House theme song at full volume. Andrea proceded to turn on/up the radio.

Highlight of the Trip

The highlight of the trip was the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield CA. It was so cool! We got to see how everything is made, got to see Jelly Belly art, and got LOTS of samples!
